PANDA Calls for the Retraction of (Another) BS Paper Published by Lancet
Calling Richard Horton...
I remember, going back over three years ago now, a certain someone standing at a podium making an announcement. This certain someone declared that the pathogen he told us weeks before was going to “disappear” was now capable of killing as many as 2 million Americans.
What?
Be afraid, everybody. Be very afraid.
But wait a second…
Two million? My instant thought? "That's absurd! That's absurd...unless we're dealing with an actual bioweapon." Of course, TheExperts™ assured us that we were not. Cough, cough.
OK then. So.
Instantly, my little brain starts to calculate: For 2 million to actually die in the U.S., how many would have to get infected? Of those infected, how many would have to become symptomatic? Of the symptomatic, how many would have to get very ill? Of those, how many would have to become very seriously ill...for that number -- 2 million -- to actually die?
The numbers needed for that figure or even close were utterly absurd -- and I — not so smaht — did that 𝒂𝒓𝒊𝒕𝒉𝒎𝒆𝒕𝒊𝒄 in my head!!!
Of course, this implied that none of us could be treated for a severe respiratory infection. In America...
What?
Then we find out the source of this number — Neil Ferguson of Imperial College London. Oh, come on! Who takes seriously a single word this guy says? That was everything I needed to know. These predictions were utterly absurd. If acted upon as the rumors were suggesting (Locking down..? Are you kidding me??) the effects across the board would be catastrophic.
What’s “PANDA?”
For those of you unfamiliar with PANDA, “PANDA was established in April 2020 by a group of multidisciplinary professionals, who perceived the global response to Covid — from lockdowns to mandates — as overwrought and damaging to the point of causing a great tear in the fabric of society. PANDA is an economically and politically independent organisation that has sought to develop broad rational explanations and test them against international data, while informing the public and media.”
PANDA has worked steadfastly over these last three years facing the same kind of censorship so many across the world have faced. Since my recent reinstatement to LinkedIn, their content has been making regular appearances — a far cry from the early days of this crime.
Coming across my LinkedIn feed today was an article by PANDA author Thomas Verduyn. Mr. Verduyn has sent a message to the Editor-in-Chief of The Lancet demanding a retraction of its Jun 2022 published article declaring that “the ‘vaccines’” saved 14.4 million lives from the Covid® worldwide. Mr. Verduyn’s retraction demand uses the very polite language in describing this assertion as “demonstrably ‘incorrect.’”
Mr. Verduyn goes on to say that five “relatively simple calculations” can demonstrate the assertion’s incorrectness (cough, cough). Sounds kinda like the in-my-head, back-of-the-envelope “calculation” I did three years ago…“2 million?”
Anyway, click on this link to read the full PANDA article. Here’s a teaser — I think my favorite “simple calculation” out of the five Mr. Verduyn provides:
Third, on Mar 10, 2022, The Lancet published an article in which it was estimated that between Jan 1, 2020 and Dec 31, 2021 about “18.2 million people died worldwide because of the COVID-19 pandemic.”[6]
If the vaccines had successfully prevented another 14.4 million deaths, then 32.6 million deaths would have occurred without the vaccines. For this many people to have died, it would have required all eight billion people in the world to have been infected with Covid, and a global average IFR of at least 0.41%. But a bulletin published by WHO estimates the IFR to be at most 0.23%, and it “might even be substantially lower than 0.23%.”[7] One must conclude from this that either the Lancet article claiming 18.2 million people died in the first two years of Covid is incorrect, or the Lancet article claiming that 14.4 million deaths were prevented in the first year of the vaccines is incorrect, or both Lancet articles are incorrect. Therefore, based on published average IFRs, it is impossible that both Lancet articles are correct.” (Bold/italics added)
Who knows? Maybe the Lancet article is saying that 18.2 million died in total died because of denied medical care, the wrong medical care, missed or late diagnoses of other illnesses, the catastrophic economic impact on the poor and low income populations, the suicides. Is that what they mean?
If any of you are interested in lending your support to Mr. Verduyn’s demand for retraction — especially those of you in healthcare currently or retired — the Lancet’s Editor-in-Chief is Richard Horton. His email is richard.horton@lancet.com
If this article does get pulled, it will be the second (to my knowledge) in three years by a publication that rarely retracts. The first, you may recall, was the publication of the “Surgisphere” “study” on hydroxychloroquine. Within days, Lancet pulled that article, a step that The Guardian called “…one of the most consequential retractions in modern history.”
Later that year in Sep 2020, Lancet published a follow-up article about the Surgisphere retraction entitled, “Learning from a retraction.” Summary from the article:
“As trusted sources of information, the Lancet journals are committed to ensuring that our editorial processes will continue to be as robust as possible.”
Umm…
If only just one of Mr. Verduyn’s five “relatively simple calculations” were correct, it seems like the Lancet has another “consequential retraction” in its future. Seems that last learnin’ didn’t take…
Calling Richard Horton…
Fantasy Land abounds across the mindscape of the Woke Failing West. They have created a Fake Virtual Reality which they ask us to pretend as being real. It is not. And in its not-ness defiance of truth and the natural order, Woke totally dehumanizes. Zombies abound.
As to the Lancet, it needs a good puncturing.
Thanks SheThinksLiberty. The Lanclet is a complete joke. Drosten was at the center of Reimer Fullmich's work early-on; he is a liar and a fraud. The PCR primers he "developed" and the CT's were completely bogus - just like during AIDS. Sick, sick minds at work. Peace. :-)
