False premises. Making comparisons that sound good, but fail the logic test. Or that old canard about where liberties end..? You know, the "greater good" and all that?

If I may offer this perspective - to voice what we don't want (ie: war) is actually summoning it forward. We create what we speak so rather we should speak the opposite to war. Peace was done in the 60's but how about freedom, how about peer-to-peer (ie: quality of voice) something like that. To say forget war is to summon war if we understand that what we speak we bring forth. I hope this helps.
Hi Denise. No one, including myself, who has ever survived combat ever forgets war. Forget War is my polite way of saying it. A War the likes of which humankind has never known was launched globally in 2020 and is ongoing. We are all veteran combatants now.

Fact is, liberty is defined as being able to take your property and come and go as you please without interference from government or anyone else. I don’t need permission by license or permit.
If I haven’t injured anyone or damaged property I can’t be charged with a
crime either. I also can’t be charged with a crime absent a grand jury indictment. Not lawfully, so any charge’s aren’t going to amount to anything. But know my rights. aschooloflaw.com is my website for others to learn from.
My liberty can’t be limited by others simply because they think something might happen. People don’t have the authority to tell other people what they can or cannot do. Vote all you want to limit your own liberty, it won’t affect mine at all.
If you don’t understand the definition of liberty you should not talk about it. If you don’t know what your rights are then you should not speak about them.
If you can’t recite the Constitution then you should not talk about it until you can. Don’t attempt to do a book report when you haven’t read the book, you’ll just fail miserably and probably cause harm to others in your same condition (ignorance).
“My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge” Hosea 4.6
I appreciated your whole comment, Zane. In particular, I loved this: "My liberty can’t be limited by others simply because they think something might happen."
We have lost so much in terms of civil liberties, so much that most don't even realize it. They're making a big deal of several US states that are trying to pass laws to make IVM over the counter. What most don't realize is that our government took away our liberties when they set up an organization whose unelected career bureaucrats have the power to tell me what I can and cannot buy in the drug store. ALL DRUGS should be over the counter. Every single one of them. Wow, there're gonna let me buy one drug, IVM, over the counter in 6 or 8 US states. Shut down the FDA and CDC and make all drugs available to buy, no restrictions!
The people give away their liberties when they vote for a person rather than a proposal. Voting for people is handing them power and it makes no sense. As if it has yielded anything good. Whereas voting for proposals that anyone can make, (including yourself) and having a digital infrastructure to support that, is a simple solution.
so you're suggesting we go to direct democracy instead of representative democracy? I would go along with that, but while we're at it we need to put local government at the top of the hierarchy. That is, when the voters of a town, city, or county make a decision, it should not be able to be overruled by voters at the state level or at the federal level. I think that's the only way to make democracy work. People know, or can find out, what's going on in their own backyard. To have the system we have now, where a bunch of federal bureaucrats, can overrule what the local government has decided is not democracy, it's tyranny.
That's right, the only way it can be "overruled" is if the group, organization, individual etc, submits a proposal and a vast majority approves it (ie: votes for it). I'm talking about a whole new system where there isn't even a municipality. You see we have been inured to think we need some administrator that is there all the time - but no - when there is a need for something, a person, or group puts forward a proposal and if a vast majority votes in approval, it goes ahead. This is a quality consensus system that is totally transparent. It only goes by proposals and votes. There would be no hierarchy of any kind. Anything that needed to be done would be done by the ones described in the proposal and the people would be the ones who vote it in. It can only be overturned by another proposal that is made where the people again vote it in. It is total, 100% self-ocracy.
There is no liberty so long as people write laws that others are forced to abide by who had no say in writing the laws. That means you'd get a say and everyone you know. What's not to love? The Constitution is old hat and besides, no women wrote it so it's really only for men according to the logic I just put forth.
The Constitution is still in effect, last time I looked, and still supersedes any statutes not in conformance with it. It also includes all Americans. Your comment is a negativity for others to have gloomy thoughts from.
I was doing some work during the “pandemic” at a house of a friend named Steve. Steve is a very intelligent general manager at an extremely large health club I’ve been doing business with for almost 40 years. I’ve known him for decades. Of course I am unvaxed and Steve is vaxed to the max!! So our discussion got slightly heated and I told Steve I will never be locked in my house ever or restricted to do anything I want to do. He said if it was up to him unvaxed people should be locked in their house and only allowed to go to grocery stores once a week on certain days. Steve happens to be Jewish, which I honestly have no problem at all with, but I told Steve my father when he was 24 years old volunteered to go to Europe to help free his descendants from the same disgusting tyranny that he seems to think is alright to push on me. I told Steve my father was shot in the back during the Battle of the Bulge, and was red tagged to die there on the side of the road in Germany. He was sent back to England where a surgeon removed one of my father’s lungs and saved his life. There was one night during my father’s time there, he told my sister, that his whole platoon, 49 men were killed, all but my father. Because of my father’s injuries helping to free your relatives I told Steve, my father died when I was only twenty! So next time you think people should be locked down in their house, think of me Steve and know tyrants with ideas like yours will never lock people like me in my house. My father and my family have paid much too high a price for you tyrannical BS. Steve stopped the discussion right then and there and never brought I up with me again.
Wow. Yours is quite a story, James. Thank you for sharing.
My mother's older brother was killed at the Battle of the Bulge. Devastated her family. They had just lost their beloved husband and father in Apr of that year (1944). Then in Dec, just after his 20th birthday in Nov, my uncle that I never knew lost his life at age 20.
With these histories -- and yours so close -- let anyone tell us the extent of our freedoms? Or crap our pants and toss our liberties? Over a respiratory infection?
That ended well. Maybe he gave it some thought, because the mask and vaccine tyrants think that makes sense but it only makes sense if you don't think about it. I like this saying "I'm not going to burn my house down to keep you warm". The funny thing is they think that way because they agree with vaccination. What if it were some other mandate for a procedure they don't agree with.
She Thinks Liberty, this is a letter the wife of a friend of my father that was killed in action there sent my father after he got back to the states in 1945. It’s a bit hard to read, it’s in cursive, and she wrote on the front and back of the pages but it’s a great letter. Take your time if you can when you read it. I’d love to hear what you think. It’s amazing the sacrifice of so many to keep this world a place like America which once was that shining city on the hill!!
Oh, James. That is really something. You can feel the heartache coming off the pages...still. Rose, yes? Her words about keeping a stiff upper lip (my words) and not letting others see her cry? Our forebears were those kind of people, James.
Seeing her handwriting reminded me of my mother's. I think school children all learned cursive doing the same letter-making practice. I love seeing the uniqueness and authenticity of letters/card written by someone to someone.
I know my father would probably not be happy with me sharing this but he has been dead for 40 years now, that’s 2/3rds of my life without him. His sacrifice to help free Europe and the Jewish people was my and my families sacrifice as well. Someday I hope I will see him again and I can ask him all the questions I never got to, because I was only 20 and naive then. I hope you enjoyed reading Rose’s letter to my father. BTW I go to the Wright Museum often in Wolfboro NH, it’s a WW2 museum and they have many letters there, I have never seen a letter like the one I posted,
Excellent! You totally destroyed the communist creep. Thank you SheThinksLiberty.
This is poetic: "I hope this clarifies the limits imposed by self-induced impairment with the broad rights of the individual. It is the common law — based on the Natural Law — that protects individuals from the horrors and misery that superstition, fear, and the will to power have imposed. Again and again, and over again.” And covid was and is a campaign of fear that the communist obviously fell for.
I keep thinking of Bonhoeffer's essay on stupidity - the details in it explain a lot. Obviously, there are A LOT of very stupid people in the world. Diana West and her book "American Betrayal" come to mind; the world changed abruptly when the god-less people were given a seat at the table.
Thanks for a great post! I will share it with friends.
The risk of communicable diseases has been a part of human evolution long before their presumed rights even existed. They can assume the risk or stay home.
They are completely ignoring the reality that our systems get more robust when we are exposed to a variety of organisms. So they are literally making their system so weak that they will want to stay home themselves through hiding from microscopic organisms.
Also, someone with a cough or even covid does not present an imminent danger to another. There was a surge of deaths from iatrocide and miscounted deaths “with covid”, and that with faulty testing. A policeman who arrests a drunk driver is protecting others, but the same argument cannot be made for a coughing person.
Personal liberty trumps it all. The consequences of our actions/decisions should be delivered uniformly no matter political ideology. No one should be able to mandate I put anything into my body, buy something I don't want or not be allowed to purchase something I do want. I am disgusted at how much of our freedoms have been taken and even more disgusted that many think that is okay if it is for the greater good.
Shocking, annoying, and downright scary, it's the stuff of witch burnings! Burn the witches, it's for the Greater Good!
Covid showed us all that the Democrats are at heart completely totalitarian. Half of all Democrats believed the unvaccinated should be hauled away to camps. Half of all Democrats believed that anyone who criticized the vaccine should go to prison!
Not getting vaxxed and poisoned is not really comparable to drunk driving because the driver is the only one that faces punishment but with the vaccines the sober drivers are being punished as well. What do they call non-drunk drivers then - "unsymptomatic"?
And by the same logic that they call people who don't comply with sadism "unvaxxed". Rather we should start rephrasing the narrative with original first and artificial second so that the unvaxxed would be called something such as "pure bloods" or "intact" and the vaxxed would be called vaxxed.
