My friend, Larry Cappetto, produced this video. He sent it out last night, and I just got to watch and listen. I think it’s fantastic, and I hope you enjoy.
Update 22 Jul 2024: I thought I would add some clarification to this post. It is a tribute to President Trump, but I think many of us can relate to having experienced "divine intervention" in our own lives. I know I have. That’s the primary reason for posting.
IOW, it features Donald Trump, but it’s about more than Donald Trump. That was my intent vs. it being an ad for Trump. It’s about the experience of what can seemingly only be called "divine intervention.”
Here’s the video (with attribution to artists, Newsboys). I have posted the lyrics below. Visit Larry’s work here: www.larrycappetto.com
“We have raised our hopes and our cities high
We have followed fragile dreams
But only One could take the measure of our goals
And we've stumbled over the trials of life
And we've wrestled the unseen
But only One can calm the storm inside our souls
In the hands of God, we will fall
Rest for the restless and the weary
Hope for the sinner
In the hands of God, we stand tall
Hands that are mighty to deliver
Giving us freedom
[Verse 2: Peter Furler & Phil Joel, Peter Furler]
When our strength gave way to the weight of guilt
'Til we strained for every breath
Only One could lift our shame and make us well
And when all is finished and we face
The fearsome power of death
Only One has overcome the gates of Hell
In the hands of God, we will fall
Rest for the restless and the weary
Hope for the sinner
In the hands of God, we stand tall
Hands that are mighty to deliver
Giving us freedom
Oh, You're amazing
You're amazing, You are
You're amazing
You're amazing, You are
And we praise You
Lord, for what Your hands have done
You're amazing
You're amazing, You are
In the hands of God, we will fall
Rest for the restless and the weary
Hope for the sinner
In the hands of God, we stand tall
Hands that are mighty to deliver
Giving us freedom (Giving us freedom)
Oh, You're amazing (You're amazing)
You're amazing, You are
You're amazing (You're amazing)
You're amazing, You are
And we praise You (And we praise You)
Lord, for what Your hands have done
You're amazing (Oh, You're amazing)
You're amazing, You are”
As always, count your blessings, and stay free, my friends. It is God’s intention that we be so.
As a European I don't understand the connection between the words of the song, and all the pictures of Donald Trump. Is this guy being held up as some kind of christian saint who's going to save America from the tyranny of the corporate-banking-BigPharma-military-industrial-complex that's currently screwing the entire world?
If he does I'm in favour, because I'm sure fed up with America's military meddling blowing up countries all around us in the Middle East and North Africa decade-after-decade, and causing an avalanche of desperate refugees clamouring on our shores. Perhaps Trump will have the decency to take in millions of them; after all, America caused all this with their constant war-mongering. However, his comments on 'the wall' and the southern Border with Mexico don't suggest he will.
That was so great. Thank you for sharing. I looked at Hubs as we were watching last night and said "It almost feels like we have hope, for the first time in a long time." And, always the lead to my balloon, he actually agreed with me. I guess sitting off the coast of Iran during the hostage crisis tends to make one more of a pessimist. We never watch politics or conventions, but the time we made to watch the parts we did of this one? We are not sorry! In the hands of God is right!♥♥
