Thomas Jefferson. “The spirit of resistance to government is so valuable on certain occasions, that I wish it to be always kept alive. It will often be exercised when wrong, but better so than not to be exercised at all.”
Yup. 100%. Another from Jefferson: "If people let government decide what foods they eat and what medicines they take, their bodies will soon be in as sorry a state as are the souls of those who live under tyranny."
Thanks for the Brownstone link. Here is a quote from a Dan Brown novel that I just re-read and sums it up perfectly about who runs things. This is describing the head of an NSA like operation. "William Pickering made no bones about his view of politicians as transitory figureheads who passed fleetingly across a chessboard whose real players were men like Pickering himself-seasoned "lifers" who had been around long enough to understand the game with any perspective. Two full terms in the White House, Pickering often said, was not nearly enough to comprehend the true complexities of the global political landscape." Dan Brown-Deception Point 2002
Thank you for the quote. Very apropos. When Trump first came on the scene, asserting his "Drain the swamp" mantra, I knew he had no clue what he would be getting himself into. As a native New Yorker who ahd been in NYC when he and Ivana were the toast of the town, regularly featured on Page Six, etc., it occurred to me that Trump probably thought he could "handle" the swamp.
What he apparently did not understand is that the thing he calls a "swamp" is far worse than any old swamp. I told my husband at the time that I'd wager Trump thinks because he "handled" the Italian construction "mafia" and the Jewish real estate "mafia" in NYC that he had the experience to handle the headquarters of the world's largest -- and deadliest -- crime syndicate. I told my husband, "Trump has absolutely 𝒏𝒐 clue." And I still think that. The only "handling" that happened happened to Trump.
To me it seems as though that "unknowing of the swamp" was a part of the ruse to lay bare the reality of the corruption that flourishes in DC. Trump is still doing a great job picking apart the swamp and all it s associated tendrils. Did We the People know of the depth of corruption that was inherent within our system? I say not. Or if we did it was to say our guy is good it's the other guys who are corrupt. Now we know for a fact and with some certainty who the corrupt are and we are pushing back on those and reclaiming our Rights. Trump had the knowledge and experience of how to handle corrupt criminal syndicates. He also has the inside knowledge of how the Elites run their society. It is a very different world with their own rules and if you don't know how to navigate it you're a sitting target. Looking from this angle Trump was the one to do the deep work and expose the criminal DC syndicate. The tell is that the syndicate keeps coming after him. They are afraid for their lives.
Yep. They were in our faces all along. We just thought it was all show. Some amongst us had seen through the mirage and shadows but a majority just thought them as...”conspiracy theorists”. Lol. No conspiracy. Just a reality and some amongst us are too afraid to confront it.
I'm deeply concerned that if DeSantis runs for POTUS and wins, what will become of Florida? It has beome the sanctuary state par excellance for those seeking true freedom and liberty. Besides that, why would he want to run for president? POTUS is a step down, constitutionally speaking, from governor.
I agree completely with your last sentence. I hope DeSantis understands that..?
As for what happens to Florida should DeSantis win in November and then cut that short by running in '24 for President, that's a very good question. It's the legislatures we need to focus on, IMO, getting into the faces, as it were, of our states legislators and staying there. The other office of great importance is that of attorney general. Moody's is Florida's right now. She seems fine...
Anyway, the deranged tyrants brought this fight for liberty to us, and it is we who will have to fight it -- like it or not -- for the foreseeable future.
This a stellar post! I appreciate the background info, the links and your input and impressions. I remain on the fence with regard to DeSantis but it is positive to have new leads to follow. I have not heard of Katherine Watt and look forward to checking out her research and writing. On a side note, your first few paragraphs were cathartic! I don't know where I fall on the spectrum of distrust of politicians but I am closely aligned with the beliefs of Mark Crispin Miller. I believe that Trump was inserted by the Uniparty to further their agenda of propagandizing the populace and destroying the constitution. As we all know the MSM had tremendous success in using Trump to instill absurd fear in the neoliberal voter which allowed the cabal to take us right to the precipice of constitutional collapse. My concern with DeSantis is that I see the same playbook in use. When the cabal wishes to hoodwink neoliberal voters the spin is always an asinine Kumbaya campaign like O'Bummers Yes We Can crap. When they wish to ensnare the neocon voter they paint the candidate as bold and edgy. It is an old and tiresome playbook yet i feel we are seeing it again. There were Republican governors addressing medical freedom, I believe in Nebraska and TN, and they received zero coverage. At that same time the MSM raised the profile of DeSantis daily by building the persona of a 'bad guy' for the neolibs and a 'hero' for the necons. I know I mentioned all this in another comment section but during this time he also lined pharmas pockets with the EUA of Monoclonals that had an average cost of $3,500. While doing so he remained silent on Ivermectin and other off label medications until the need was greatly diminished. I remain skeptical of him but am willing to dive into the many leads you provided. Thank you and I am glad to have become one of your readers.
Governor Kristi Noem of South Dakota is even more of an exception I think. Almost no restrictions at all, and even those were completely lifted in May 2020.
Just think, if Cuomo hadn't panicked on that fateful day of March 20, 2020, political polarities probably would have been (rather, remained) reversed. But he had to be a big shot, did he, he had to open up his mouth. And the rest is history....

BINGO
Also from old TJ as well:
"I would rather be exposed to the inconveniences attending too much liberty than those attending too small a degree of it."

The abject criminality and psychopathy of the crime syndicate has been laid bare for decades. Missing it says a lot...
What you say about Trump may be true; I doubt it, but I hope you're right and I'm wrong.
Yep. They were in our faces all along. We just thought it was all show. Some amongst us had seen through the mirage and shadows but a majority just thought them as...”conspiracy theorists”. Lol. No conspiracy. Just a reality and some amongst us are too afraid to confront it.
Great comment!
Trump famously said while in office, “In reality, they’re not after me, they’re after you. I’m just in the way.” Still feels true.
Yep! Very true!
